Rather than inventing an exhibition description, I’d keep this section especially simple until Erica gives you more context about this body of work.

Erica’s visual work explores identity, cultural memory, lived experience, and the stories carried through people and place.

Her practice is deeply personal, using art as a path toward reclaiming identity, expressing lived experience, and creating space for reflection, connection, and possibility.

03 — SELECTED PROJECT

End Fossil Fuels

National Campaign· 2023

I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute as one of the artists in Art to End Fossil Fuels, a project by People vs. Fossil Fuels. This powerful initiative brings together visual designs by five artists, each of whom has personally experienced the devastating impacts of extreme weather disasters in their communities.

My design reflects the devastating reality of wildfires. In 2020, my community was ravaged by a wildfire that destroyed nearly 2,800 structures, including the neighborhoods where I grew up. Many of my relatives lost their homes. Yet, amid the destruction, our community came together, rising from the ashes to rebuild, heal, and move forward together.
